Why I’m Running for Sheriff: A Personal Commitment to Jefferson County
For me, Jefferson County has always been home. I was born and raised here, grew up in Hanover, and spent my life surrounded by the people and places that shaped who I am today. This community gave me my start, my purpose, and my calling. After more than three decades in public safety, I am running for Sheriff because I believe in giving back to the county that has given me so much.
My career began in 1994 at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, where I worked as a dispatcher before becoming a reserve officer and later a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Since then, I’ve served in multiple roles across local and state agencies, including crisis intervention, criminal investigations, and community policing. Every step of the way, I have seen firsthand the challenges our residents face—and the strength our community shows in overcoming them.
I’m running for Sheriff because Jefferson County deserves a leader who will be accessible, engaged, and fully committed to public safety. I believe in building trust through visibility, strong partnerships, and honest communication. I want our children to grow up with positive relationships with law enforcement, our elders to feel protected, and our roadways to be safe for every family who travels them. This campaign is about service, responsibility, and working together to build a stronger future for Jefferson County.
